Gopal Subramaniam objects to act as night-watchman
New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam today refused to ''act as night-watchman'' in the Supreme Court when he declined to argue before Senior Counsel K Parasaran in the NBC reservation case.
Mr Subramaniam told the five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan that he has been a recognised commentator and he did not want to act as a night-watchman and will argue only after Mr Parasaran who is to appear on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government completes his argument.
The bench had to rise before time as Mr Parasaran is out of Station. The arguments will be resumed on October 3.
