Employee loots goldsmith of Rs 7.8 lakh in jewellery

Mumbai, Sep 27 (UNI) A goldsmith was looted to the tune of Rs 7.8 lakh in gold jewellery by an employee and three others at Dahisar near here early today after being threatened with toy pistols.

Dhananjay Santra (19) was working along with his other employees in his unit around 0230 hours when one of the workers, identified as Riyaz, barged in along with three of his accomplices.

The four brandished knives and pistols, which were later discovered to be toy pistols, to threaten Santra and the other employees present in the unit, and made away with gold ornaments valued at around Rs 7.8 lakh, police said.
