Delhi Assy pays tributes to Vithalbhai patel on 134th birth anny
New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) The Delhi Legislative Assembly today paid tributes to veteran freedom fighter and first Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly Vithalbhai Jhaver Bhai Patel on his 134th Birth anniversary.
At a function held at the Old Secretariat, Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh paid floral tributes to the lifesize statue of the great patriot and freedom fighter. Chaudhry Prem Singh was joined in by the Leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Whip Ramakant Goswami, MCD councillor Pramod Chaudhry, Sikh leader Jathedar Rachchpal Singh, Delhi Chief Secretary R Narayanswamy, former MCD councillor Memwati Barwala and senior officers of the Delhi Government.
The Assembly Speaker described Mr Vithalbhai Patel as a freedom fighter of first rank, patriot and philanthropist who took part in the freedom movement at the call of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
