CEHAT releases book on health care

Mumbai, Sep 27 (UNI) Leading social organisations, the Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT)&India Centre for Human Rights and Law (ICHRL) today released a book here on 'health care'.

The book, 'Health Care Case Law in India, A Reader', is a useful reference for judges, lawyers and activists, and covers important judgements passed by the country's Apex court and the various High Courts. The foreword to the book has been written by former Justice of the Bombay High Court Suresh Hosbet.

Interestingly, some of the important topics that the book covers are the burning issue of HIV/AIDS, Health Rights of Workers, Reproductive Rights, Environment&Health Rights, Right to Emergency Health Care, Issues in Medical Practice, Medical Negligence, Drugs and Public Health and Mental Health Care.

The book contains a rich contribution from legal counsels such as Mihir Desai, Kamyani Bali Mahabal, Vijay Hiremath and Deepti Chand, while Ravi Duggal has written the introduction to the book.
