Bureau Veritas office in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sep 27 (UNI) Considering the rapid growth of economy in Orissa, the Paris-based Bureau Veritas, an international group with core business of conformity assessment, today opened its office here, the second in Eastern India after Kolkota.

Briefing newsmen on the occasion, Bureau Veritas Chief Executive Officer Ryszard Kaszuba said the organisation had so far provided certification to 35 industrial houses in the state.

The full fledged office, he said, would respond speedily to the clients and the prospect's need.

The Bureau Veritas, he said, had more than 100 customers which included major business houses such as Hindalco Industries, Tata Refractories, Vedant Aluminium, Mahanadi Coalfields, Visa Steel, Bhusan Steels and Orissa Power Generation Corporation.

Mr Kaszuba said the next office in the Eastern India would be opened at Guwahati in October next, while another office at Kakinada would also be opened to serve its clients more efficiently.

He hoped with a large number of projects coming up in Orissa, the Bureau Vertas could play a pro-active role in the industrialisation and development of the state.
