Lucknow, Sep 27 (UNI) At least seven people were crushed to death and two others sustained injury when a loaded truck overturned on them in Allahabad city this morning.
Of the deceased, four were natives of Andhra Pradesh and were in the city to take a dip in the holy Ganga.
According to police the loaded ten-wheel truck overturned and crushed the people having their morning tea near Bangar Dharmashala under Kydganj police station.
Rough driving is said to be the reason behind the accident and a case has been registered against the driver, police said. However, the driver and cleaner of the truck sustained serious injury in the accident and were admitted to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Subh Lakshmi, Chinari devi, Shankaranand Sharma and Narsimha Rao(all from Andhra Pradesh) and local Kalu Ram Chaurasia and Kailash. Indetification of one deceased was yet to the made.
