100-odd youth flagged off from Ludhiana
Ludhiana, Sept 27 (UNI) A contingent of 100 youth wearing turbans and dresses like Shaheede-e-Azam Bhagat Singh were flagged off from the statutes of Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Jagroan Bridge for the historic Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar to participate in the Birth Centenary Celebrations of Bhagat Singh.
Jails, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Hira Singh Gabria and Deputy Commissioner Sumer Singh Gurjar flagged off the procession of a decked-up jeep and three buses.
Earlier, functions were organised at three places relating to the martyrs Naughara Mohalla Ludhiana, the ancestral house Shaheed Sukhdev, at village Sarabha , the native village of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and at Bhiani Sahib.
The procession started from Jagroan Bridge would pass through Ferozepur road, Mullanpur, Chowki Mann Jagroan, Sidhwan Bet, Nakodar, Jalandhar enroute for Amritsar.
Three youth holding Mashals led the procession in an open jeep.
UNI
