Swaraj Paul presents Gordon Brown's book to Speaker
New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Lord Swaraj Paul, Member, House of Lords, United Kingdom, today presented to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee a book authored by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and specially autographed by him for the Speaker..
Mr Paul, a well-known NRI, met Mr Chatterjee in Vigyan Bhavan on the sidelines of the 53rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference here.
The book is titled, 'Courage-Eight Portraits'. Presenting the book, Lord Paul said, ''I am presenting a book authored by a great man about great men and women to a great man.'' Later in the day, Mr W J M Lokubandara, Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament, also called upon Mr Chatterjee.
Mr Lokubandara presented to Mr Chatterjee a copy of the ''Bhagavad Gita,'' which contains Tamil, Sinhalese and English versions of the ''Gita,'' which is a discourse by Lord Krishna to Arjuna.
Meanwhile, Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid a courtesy call on Mr Chatterjee at his residence.
