Sharad Yadav condoles Jana Krishnamurthy's demise

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav today condoled the death of former BJP president K Jana Krishnamurthy and said the void caused by his death in the political sphere would be difficult to fill.

Addressing a condolence meeting at the JD(U) office here, Mr Yadav said Krishnamurthy, who was born in a family of lawyers in Madurai, was in the legal profession before he joined the RSS and Jana Sangh. He was elected member of the Rajya Sabha and became the union law minister.

Krishnamurthy, who was an able administrator, impressed all with his work. He was the first politician from Tamil Nadu to become the President of a national party, Mr Yadav said. The former BJP President was not only a good organiser and eminent intellectual, but was also well versed in Hindi, English and Tamil.

He said it would be difficult to fill the void created by the death of Krishnamurthy and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

The condolence meeting was attended by a number of party leaders including General Secretaries K C Tyagi and Javed Raza, Secretaries Afaq Ahmad Khan, Irshad Ahmad and JD(U) students wing head Pratyush Nandan.
