Patna, Sep 26 (UNI) The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) today exuded confidence that appointment of Rahul Gandhi as General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) would enthuse young generation across the country and help bring them back to the party's mainstream.
In its meeting here, the BPCC passed a resolution, expressing gratitude to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for appointing Rahul as general secretary and said the decision would prove to be vital for the organisation.
Addressing the meeting, BPCC president Sadanand Singh said the party would continue to carry on mass contact programme at village level to create awareness among them about various developmental and welfare schemes being carried out with fund provided by the Central government.
'' I would soon meet new in-charge of party affairs for Bihar Chandra Kishore Deo in New Delhi and apprise him of the activities of the organisation and also on the political situation in the state, '' he said and hoped the party would get strengthened in Bihar under his guidance.
Mr Singh also lambasted the Nitish Kumar government for deteriorating law and order situation in the state and said common man was feeling unsafe as morale of the criminals was high.
People of the state were feeling immense hardship due to the pathetic power situation, he lamented.
