Bangalore, Sep 26 (UNI) The Bellary district police have registered two separate cases against Bhartiya Janata Party's (BJP) Tourism and Infrastructure minister Sri Ramulu in the JD(S)-BJP Development Front coalition government in the state.
According to police sources, the Bellary district police have registered two separate cases against Mr Sriramulu under IPC 307 for allegedly attempting to murder a JD(S) activist during election campaign last night.
The police also registered similar case against Mr G Janardhana Reddy a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, who was also suspended by BJP earlier for hurling charges of Rs 150 crore bribe against Karnataka Chief Minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy in the alleged mining operations in Bellary district.
The police informed that the case was registered against the BJP leaders following a complaint received by the JD(S) members. The JD(S) members led by Mr Suryanarayana Reddy, MLA and political secretary to Chief Minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy were holding protest dharna demanding immediate action from the police into the attack on JD(S) members by the minister and his associate.
In a separate case the Bellary district police also registered case against Sri Ramulu and Janardhana Reddy for allegedly preventing state officials in discharging their duties.
The top police officials when contacted informed that investigation was being conducted in both the cases filed against the minister and the legislator. No any arrests were made into the alleged incidents, the sources added.
