Parthiv hopes to make comeback

By Staff

Ahmedabad, Sep 26 (UNI) Test discard wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel today expressed hopes of making a comeback to Team India by performing well in domestic cricket.

''I am working hard on my game and fitness to return to Team India,'' Parthiv said while speaking to reporters here.

On the abandonment of the India 'A' and South Africa 'A' ODI due overnight rains, Parthiv said, ''It was really disappointng as a great opportunity has been lost by aspiring players to get international exposure.'' The visiting South African side are a very good team as they have strong players, Parthiv said.

''Every match with this South African side can give wonderful opportunities for the players to draw the attention of selectors.

But, it is unfortunate that the match had to be called off due to rains,'' he said.

Parthiv admitted that it was going to be difficult to find a place in Team India as competition was tough. ''The only way for me is to perform well and wait for the right moment,'' Parthiv added.

Parthiv said he is expecting to play well in the next two matches against the visitors to be played at Baroda and Rajkot on September 28 and 30 respectively.
