NE perform best in ICDS implementation
Agartala, Sep 26: The Statistics and Programme Implementation Ministry has appreciated the performance of three Northeastern states - Assam, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh - in the execution of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) during 2006-07.
Official sources here today said the achievement of both the ICDS indicators - block operation and Anganwadi function - had been recorded at more than 100 per cent in these states.
The monthly monitoring report of the 20 Point ICDS programme revealed that the best performance for both the indicators was recorded in Assam at 133 per cent for operational blocks and 102 per cent for Anganwadis.
Assam was followed by Tripura at 108 and 106 per cent respectively, while Arunachal Pradesh recorded 105 per cent for both the indicators, the report added.
