Chennai, Sep 26 (UNI) Denying its involvement in the violence at the Government Law College at Chengalpattu, ''Moovendar Paasarai'', a political outfit, today urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to order a detailed probe into the violence following a ragging incident.
Alleging that ragging was rampant in the college, Paasarai State Convenor M Palanivelrajan told reporters here that his outfit was not involved in the violence, in which petrol bombs were also hurled.
''I went there to lodge a complaint to the Principal on the ragging, in which my sister was a victim. My car was also damaged in the incident,'' he said.
''However, on the contrary, some vested interests, wielding good political clout, were trying to divert the attention by blaming us for the violence and had instigated students to resort to agitation demanding action against us,'' he added.
Alleging that those who lodge complaints against ragging were attacked by the group and forced to withdraw the complaints, he said only a detailed probe would unearth the mysterious happenings inside the college.
Mr Palanivelrajan said he would also file a petition to the Human Rights Commission demanding a detailed probe and another petition in the Madras High Court in this regard.
