Monsoon weak over the State

Bangalore, Sep 26 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Karkala, Bhagamandala, Kottigehara, Agumbe 6 each; Dharmasthala, Bhatkal, Mangalore AP, Udupi, Virajpet 4 each; Mudibidre, Puttur, Honavar, Panambur, Mudigere, Madhugiri 3 each; Mani, Kundapur, Siddapura, Shirali, Linganamakki, Sringeri, Koppa, Sakleshpura, Arkalgud, Madikeri 2 each; Mangalore, Humnabad, Basavakalyan, Manvi, Napoklu, Ponampet, Madapura, Sagar, Tyagarthi, Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Holalur, Jayapura, Konanur, Hallimysore, Gowribidanur, Hiriyur, Gubbi, Sira, Chikkanahalli, Tumkur 1 each.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Hassan districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with a spell of rain/showers.
