Haryana Tourism offers spl discount on kitty parties

Chandigarh, Sep 26 (UNI) On the occasion of World Tourism Day tomorrow, the Haryana Tourism would offer a special discount of 15 per cent on kitty parties of women and on birthday celebrations of girl child at all its tourist complexes which will continue till March 31 next.

Minister of State for Tourism Kiran Choudhry said these discounts were being offered for women, keeping in view this year's theme 'Tourism Opens Door For Women' on the World Tourism Day by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.

She said that Haryana Tourism was committed to promote women empowerment and the overall aim was to ensure more participation of women in tourism activities.

She said that in order to increase public awareness about the interrelation between tourism and its beneficial role for women, the Tourism Department was ready to offer some of its tourist destinations as a forum for marketing products especially by women crafts persons till March, 2008.

She said women crafts persons would be encouraged to hold exhibitions and market their products at tourists complexes at Rai,Karnal and Pinjore.

Haryana Tourism Corporation Managing Director Satwanti Ahlawat further informed that 10 per cent discount on food would also be given to all visitors and 15 per cent discount to the senior citizens who would be visiting any tourist complex across Haryana on September 27 to mark the World Tourism Day.

She said the selected tourists complexes would organise cultural evenings for the visitors and variety of food consisting of South Indian, Chinese and Rajasthani would be available.

There would be illumination of all tourists complexes on the World Tourism Day, she added.
