Haryana to have Kala Parisar in Kurukshetra

Chandigarh, Sep 26 (UNI) Haryana will have a Kala Parisar, under the banner of Haryana Kala Parishad, on the bank of holy Brahamsarovar in Kurukshetra.

This was stated by Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar during her interaction with the media persons here today.

She said the project was near completion and its first phase costing Rs three crore would be ready by November this year.

The first phase would include art gallary and a museum exhibiting precious artefacts connected with the architecture and archeology.

The second phase would comprise an open air theatre with a seating capacity of 700 persons.

Giving the detail of implementations of different development projects in Haryana, Ms Issar said the Nabard projects for Haryana for the year 2008-09 would be finalised by November this year.

She said during the current financial year out of Rs 267 crore, Rs 172 crore had been already received for irrigation, P W D (Buildings and road), Water Supply and Animal Husbandry departments.

She said the projects were financed by the NABARD and the state government in the 80:20 ratio respectively. She pointed out that the states prepared their annual projects keeping in view the allocations in the Central budget.

Ms Issar, who inaugurated the 21st Haryana Women Sports fesitival in Panchkula recently, stressed at great involvement of the girls in the sports activities that helped in building self-confidence and developing overall personality.

To a question, Ms Issar said the Metro rail line to Gurgaon was likely to be ready well in time before the Commonwealth Games, she added.
