Imphal, Sep 26 (UNI) Manipur's Food and Civil Supplies and Commerce and Industries Minister Y Erabot today said properties worth crore of rupees were missing from the government offices controlled by the Khadi Board.
He said inspction was carried at three offices under him at Imphal and Bishenpur districts and it was found many machines installed there were missing. ''The officials could be involved in the case and appropriate actions will be taken up'', the minister added.
At the Hiyangthang production centre, pre-openes machines, tap machines, tap carding machines, final tap machines, six spindle Charkha, flier machines were found missing and at the Pottery Production Centre, Khongjom all the machines were found missing.
Most of the Khadi offices were found locked. At the Bee keeping centre and Bishenpur district none of the machines were found. Mr Erabot said he has instructed the officials to enquire into the matter and take up appropriate actions.
He further said large numbers of people had encroached at the office premises controlled by the Khadi Board and about 7 acre of land encroachments were noticed.
Mr Erabot said he has asked the Commerce and Industries officials to start an investigation and register an FIR out he did not rule out the possibility of involvement of officials.
The Minister said the government was not able to distribute property essential items properly due to intervention by the militants. ''The government will enquire into the quality of the edible oil found in the state and samples from various oil depots were taken for quality testing,'' he added.
