New Delhi, Sept 26 (UNI) Paving way for IPTV services, broadcast regulator Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today said the draft paper is likely to be ready within a month.

''The draft paper on the IPTV services is expected to be ready within a month,'' TRAI Advisor (Regulatory Enforcement) N Parameswaran told reporters here.

Earlier in the month, the telecom regulator sought consultation paper on provisioning of IPTV services, saying there was lack of clarity on who could provide IPTV services.

It said the issue to be addressed was the technological requirement of IPTV services to deliver content through a set top box (STB) which might lead to non-compliance of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, in reference to delivery of free-to-air channels without needing an addressable system.

The other issues were the use of different devices by difference service providers and lack of standardisation for IPTV set top box.
