CPI observe fast demanding action on Doctor

Puducherry, Sep 26 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) cadres today observed a fast in front of the government general hospital here demanding a judicial probe into the death of a patient.

State secretary Na Ra Kalainathan, who led the fast were demanding action against Dr Murugesan, who attended on the patient Selvadurai, suffering from kidney ailment, a solatium of Rs ten lakh to his family and a government job to his wife.

Dr Murugesan had suggested the postponment of the kidney transplantation on Selvadurai, stating that his kidneys were functioning partially. However, Selvadurai died after two days following which the CPI organised agitations forcing the police to register a case against the doctor, which was protested by the Medical Officers Association.
