ABB India gets Rs 93.30 cr order for cement plant in Jordan

New Delhi, Sept 26 (UNI) Engineering giant ABB India today said it has won Rs 93.30 crore contract from German KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH to provide a turnkey electrics and automation solution for a 5,000 tonnes per day (tpd) capacity greenfield cement plant at Katrana in Jordan The plant, being set up by Jordan-based Al Katrana Cement Company LLC (AKCC), a group company of Arabian Cement Company Saudi Arabia, is expected to be completed by mid-2009.

''ABB's proven power and automation technologies will help bring significant energy efficiency, facilitate productivity and sustain quality standards at the plant,'' ABB India Country Manager Biplab Majumder said.

The package will include low and high voltage motors, electronic drives, intelligent switchgear, HT and LT capacitors and distribution transformers.

ABB will also provide control and automation for the Robot Lab at the plant, being established to enable sample analysis for quality improvement.
