A soldier and civilian driver injured in militant ambush in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 26 (UNI) A soldier and a civilian driver were injured when militants ambushed an Army convoy on Srinagar-Chowkibal road near Sopore, about 55 km from here today.
A defence Ministry spokesman Lt Colonel A K Mathur said militants attacked an Army convoy at village Chooru near Sopore in Baramulla district today.
Troops and Road Opening Party (ROP) also retaliated but the militants managed to escape.
He said a soldier and a driver of a private vehicle were injured in the attack.
The convoy, which had left Srinagar this morning, later proceeded towards Chowkibal in the frontier district of Kupwara.
This was the fourth ambush by militants on Army convoy in the north Kashmir during the past two months.
