Mandya, Sep 25 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today observed that the remarks made by his Tamil Nadu counterpart M Karunanidhi on Lord Sri Ram were 'unwarranted.' Speaking at a function on the eve of the 34th Pattabhisheka celebrations of Sri Balagangadhara Swamiji of Sri Adichunchunagiri Mutt here, he said the being a senior politician and head of a State, Mr Karunanidhi could have avoided making such remarks, which had hurt the feelings of a larger section of the society.
''He should have thought about it twice, before making such remarks,'' he felt.
Mr Kumaraswamy said it was wrong to make use of political fora for airing comments on religion as it would send wrong signals to various communities.
He also condemned the attack on the house of Mr Karunanidhi's daughter in Bangalore, following the remarks.
On the local body elections slated for September 28, he said the time had come for the people to select honest persons as their representatives.
