Tamil Nadu CM's remarks on Sri Ram unwarranted: Kumaraswamy

Mandya, Sep 25 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today observed that remarks made by his Tamil Nadu counterpart M Karunanidhi on Sethusamudram project and the Sri Ram were 'unwarranted.' Speaking at a function on the eve of 34th Pattabhisheka (coronation) celebrations of Sri Balagangadhara Swamiji of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mutt in Mandya District he said that being a senior politician and head of a state, Mr Karunanidhi could have avoided making such remarks which hurt the feelings of the people large section of the society. "He should have thought about it twice before passing such remarks," he felt.

Mr Kumaraswamy said it was wrong to make use of political forums in the name of religion as it would send wrong signals to various communities.

He also condemned attack on the house of Mr Karunanidhi's daughter in Bangalore following his remarks.

On the local body elections slated for September 28, he said a time had come for the people to select honest and good people as their representatives.
