New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent notice to the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of Bara Hindu Rao Hospital on a report which said that the hospital stinks due to lack of proper services.

It asked the CMS to submit a factual report on it within four weeks.

Taking suo-motu cognizance of the report, which appeared in a national daily on September 17, the Commission said that it is a serious issue of violation of human rights of the patients.

As per the press report, the female surgical ward of the hospital, stinks, as each of the bed was occupied by two adults and two babies due to shortage of beds.

The report, further, said that the floor of the ward was flooded with urine and the new-born were exposed to a host of infections.

The press report also said that sometimes the patients came with atleast four attendants who slept in the same ward, thus overcrowding the hospital.
