Tehran, Sept 25 (UNI) A senior official of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce has called for cooperation between India, Iran and China to guarantee Asia's economic development.
Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM) President Mohammad Nahavandian said here yesterday that Iran-India economic relations were important for Asia's progress and mutual cooperation in areas including IT and automobiles was of paramount importance to both countries.
Describing the 21st century as the century of the 'rise of Asia', he said the 19th century belonged to Europe, the 20th century to the United States and 21st to Asia.
''Therefore, Asian states must lend a hand to each other to further develop and progress. That's what the Europeans did,'' 'Tehran Times' quoted him as saying.
He said most of Europe's economic deals were done in the same continent. Therefore, Asian states should also emphasise on deals in Asia.
He also called upon multi-national companies to benefit from each other's potentials.
