Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) Former world number one Lleyton Hewitt of Australia gave a boost to the organisers of the Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open when he arrived in the city to take part in the tournament today.
Hewitt, who is seeded number 2 in this tournament, had been a doubtful starter after being indisposed over the weekend which compelled him to pull out from his country's Davis Cup match.
Hewitt, who arrived here this afternoon, is still not feeling 100 per cent fit and is expected to take the court tomorrow, without any practice, to get acclimatised to the conditions here.
This tournament has also seen a spate of withdrawals by star players such as Russia's Marat Safin and Marcos Baghdatis Cyprus who pulled out due to injuries.
