Bhopal, Sep 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today asked the Centre about the basis for granting 'Visa' to British Royal Regiment's former members, who were visiting places where British soldiers were killed during the First War of Independence in 1857.

Mr Chouhan told reporters here that it was being reported that the visiting team was viewing the 1857 war as 'Vijay Diwas'.

He wondered that how Visa was granted to British team, which had arrived with this intention, while Indians were questioned for Visa when they travelled to Britain.

Replying to a question, he said the government could not ban travelling of this team in the state because the matter came under the Centre. However, it would ensure that it did not see its visit as a part of 'Vijay Diwas' and travel to concerned places.

Hindu outfits had protested the visit of British team in Gwalior recently.
