New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) Condemning the attitude of the DMK on the Ram Sethu issue, the BJP sought to know from the Dravidian party the rationale behind organising a bandh in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to newspersons, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said the party took strong exception to DMK organising attacks on Hindu Munnani, RSS and BJP offices in Tamil Nadu.
''What are they protesting for and whom they were protesting against? The issue is before the Supreme Court. Is the protest against the Supreme Court or against its own government?,'' he asked.
He said the BJP had enough political strength to weather the onsalught.
Mr Naidu asked the Congress to break its silence on the issue and speak out its mind on such matters where agitators have violated law.
The ruling party in Tamil Nadu has called for a state-wide bandh on October 1.
Meanwhile, the BJP office bearers who were to discuss the Tamil Nadu developments, postponed their meeting to September 27 in view of the death of senior party leader K Jana Krishnamurthi in Chennai this morning.
