Astrium keen on collaborating with India
Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) European firm Astrium is eager to make use of the Indian platform to launch satellites in a cost effective manner, its Chief Executive Officer Francias Aukue said today.
''We are keen on using the huge experience gained by India in space to market the services outside India,'' he told reporters here on the sidelines of a session ''Business opportunities in space'' during the second day of the 58th International Astronuatical Congress here.
Presently, two satellites were being integrated at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) facility for launch in 2008 and 2009 respectively, he informed, adding that India had a 25 billion US Dollar potential for launch of geo-satellites.
He said Astrium was working on a new spacecraft that would take passengers into space by 2012.
