Alcatel-Lucent bags projects from China
New Delhi, Sept 25: Alcatel-Lucent today said it has won contracts from three subsidiaries of China Mobile to provide network optimisation service for their wireless networks in Shanghai, Guizhou and Shanxi provinces so that they can offer new services.
The company has also received a project from Inner Mongolia Unicom, an arm of China Unicom to deploy its advanced e-optimisation solution in its CDMA (code division multiple access) network to analyze voice/data service and help Inner Mongolia Unicom formulate new resource distribution strategies.
The projects are expected to be completed by 2007-end.
''Our service business is an important, strong business for Alcatel-Lucent, and it is a growing business in China,'' company's President (Asia Pacific) Frederic Rose said.
Alcatel-Lucent will also provide courses to help the operators train their employees to ensure optimal use of the networks' capabilities, a statement said.
