Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) CPI(M) Secretary B V Raghavulu today alleged that 40 per cent of the eligible poor were not allotted houses under 'Indiramma' scheme, while those ineligible got houses through some Congress party leaders' recommendation.

In a letter to Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana, Mr Raghavulu said though his party had given the lists of those who were denied houses, to all Collectors, neither a survey was conducted nor they were included in the lists of beneficiaries.

Most of those who were denied house sites were poor and downtrodden. He raised doubts on the government achieving 'saturation', while they were left out.

Mr Raghavulu, while pointing out that 30 to 40 per cent of those allotted houses were ineligible, said there was no use in holding the government officials, who had to submit to pressures, responsible for the ''irregularities'' in the distribution of houses.

He wanted appointment of an ombudsman and a re-survey for enlisting the eligible.
