Tripura Congress congratulates Rahul's appointment

Agartala, Sep 24 (UNI) The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) today congratulated Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi who has been appointed as All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary .

In a statement, TPCC president and former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman here said the Congress youth front and National Students Union of India (NSUI) would get a boost under his dynamic leadership.

Describing Mr Gandhi as the 'future leader and potential Prime Minister of India,' Mr Barman stated that the AICC's decision would help the party a lot to fight in the upcoming Assembly elections in several states including Tripura.

Meanwhile, TPCC submitted a 28 point charter of demands related to providing basic amenities to the urban dwellers to Agartala Municipal Council (AMC).

''We shall go for mass movement and paralyse the administration if AMC authority fails to ensure citizens service as per requirement,'' Mr Barman said and added that the government had extended AMC area without setting up the infrastructure, which has now become a woe to the people.
