Surveillance cameras set up to monitor Ganesh immersion
Hyderabad, Sep 24 (UNI) In the wake of the recent twin blasts and threat from terrorist organisations, the city police have installed more than 1,000 surveillance cameras to monitor the Ganesh immersion procession, which begins from the sensitive old city tomorrow.
Police said security had been beefed up in all immersion spots, with forces deployed from various parts of the State. A control room was also set up on the upper tank bund. Life guard teams were also deployed at the immersion sites at NTR mark and upper tank bund.
Atleast 23,000 idols would be immersed on the final day of Ganesh Chathurthi festivities tomorrow.
