Six accused get bail in MPSIDC scam

Bhopal, Sep 24 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) today submitted a supplementary chargesheet before Special Judge R K Bhave against seven accused in the Rs 700 crore scam related to the Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC).

Six accused appeared before the court and obtained bail, while the court accepted application regarding absence of one accused and directed him to appear before it on September 27.

Former Industries Minister Rajendra Singh, the then MPSIDC Managing Director M P Rajan, Gopal Sugar Mill Director Kiran N Wadhwana, a private airways official N K Bhartia and a private bank employee J S Rammurti obtained bail.

Judge Bhave directed the then MPSIDC Director Ajay Acharya to appear before him on September 27.

EOW sources said as per the directions of the High Court, an appeal has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to remove the then MPSIDC Managing Director S R Mohanty's name from the FIR. The apex court had agreed hear the matter soon.
