Islamabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association has nominated Justice (Retd) Wajeehuddin Ahmad as its presidential candidate.
Justice (Retd) Tariq Mahmood announced this here on today on behalf of the Bar Association.
Justice Mahmood said Justice Wajeehuddin Ahmad would file his nomination papers on September 27, the same day as President Pervez Musharraf, Geo News reported.
Lawyers have been at the forefront of a campaign against military rule in the country this year since Gen Musharraf tried and failed to sack Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhury.
Hundreds of lawyers boycotted courts and held rallies in a renewed campaign against the President on September 6.
