Patna, Sep 24 (UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the strategy for successful implementation of ''Kanyadan Yojna'' is under consideration and the scheme would be launched by November this year.
Speaking to the media people at the weekly Janta Darbar at his official residence here, Mr Kumar said his government was committed to implementing the scheme.
Outlining the provisions of the scheme, Mr Kumar said, " We have fixed a criteria to consider the low income group families for the scheme and the moment a girlchild is born in such family, a fixed amount will be deposited in her name to be handed over to her as token money when she turns 18. The government is also committed to helping the girls from poor families for their marraiges. " Asked about cheating going on in the name of " Kanyadan Yojna", Mr Kumar said even he came across such complaints in the Janta Darbar and had directed the District Magistrate of Patna to review the matter and take necessary action against those found guilty.
Highlighting the utilitarian features of "Kanyadan Yojna", Mr Kumar said the moment the scheme was launched, the common people would realise its benefit.
