GOC, 101 Area felicitates 101 Area Aquatics team

Shillong, Sep 24 (UNI) Maj Gen Vinor Nayanar, GOC 101 area felicitated the 101 Area Aquatics team for winning the Inter Fmn Eastern command Aquatics Championship 2007-08 held under the aegis of HQ Bengal area from September 15-18, said a defence release today.

The team won the overall Inter Fmn Eastern Command Acquatics Championship convincingly by defeating the nearest rival 17 Mountain Division by 69 points.

The team not only dominated the swimming but also dominated the diving events, it said.

The team won both the Gold and Silver medals in fixed Board as well as Spiring Board Diving.

The team also won the water polo championship trophy defeating 17 Mountain division in the finals.

The GOC complimented the team for their superlative performance and complimented the coach Sub M K Augustine Zou for training the team to this level of excellence, it added.
