Ahmedabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Five coaches of 9038 Gorakhpur-Bandra Express caught fire in Surat section of the Western Railway midnight last night, disrupting the normal traffic in this sector.
Western Railway sources said the train was stopped as soon as the fire was noticed in the sleeper coaches between Lakhodra and Palej station near Bharuch at around 0115 hrs.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident. The cause of the fire was not yet ascertained.
In view of the incident, one line was blocked for traffic that resulted in trains running late by five to six hours, sources added.
