New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Warm and humid weather today continued in Delhi even as the mercury dropped slightly to 36.7 degrees Celsius.
Though unlike yesterday's bright sunny day, the sky was partly cloudy today interspersed with periods of sunshine, the high humidity levels continued to leave Delhiites sweltering.
For, even though the maximum temperature plummeted to 36.7 degrees from 37.2 degrees C, it still remained three degrees above the normal temperature at this time of the year.
The minimum also rose to 25.0 degrees C, from 23.7 degrees C yesterday.
The coming days could, however, see a shift to cooler climes with the weatherman forecasting increase in rainfall activity in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India due to the influence of a mid tropospheric westerly trough.
''In view of the development of a westerly trough , enhanced rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy showers is likely over Northwest India from September 24 to 26,''the weather office said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with likelihood of thundering or light rain in a few areas.
