Bellary, Sep 23: Janata Dal (Secular) Karnataka unit President Mirajuddin Patel today said transfer of power by the party to its coalition partner BJP, is possible only if the latter agreed to abide by certain conditions.

Talking to newspersons here, he said if the BJP was not ready to accept the conditions put by the JD(S) leaders, then anything could happen, including seeking a fresh mandate.

Mr Patel, however, refused to spell out the conditions.

''Our party President and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and other senior leaders will discuss the issue in detail and their decision is final,'' he said adding that the leaders would also take the opinion of the party Legislators.

Both the JD (S) and the BJP had made an agreement during the formation of the coalition government to share power for 20 months each. Accordingly, the JD(S) should hand over the reins of power to the BJP on October three.
