Kargil, Sep 23 (UNI) Pakistan army today handed over the body of a school teacher to Indian Army at a post near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kargil sector.

Official sources said a flag meeting was arranged after Pakistan army recovered the body of an Indian citizen from river which enters the other side of the border at Kargil.

The deceased was identified as Mujeeb ur-Rehman son of Mohamamd Yaqoob, resident of Uttarakhand.

According to officials, Rehman, who was working as teacher in Drass Public School (DPS), went missing on August 14 last year and a suicide note was found in his bedroom.

However, police registered a missing report but closed the case as of suicide without tracing the body.

The body was identified by the relatives of Rehman who alleged that he was murdered as they saw a nylon rope tied around his chest.

Police have again started investigation, they said.

This was for the first time the Pakistan army handed over a body to Indian troops at Kargil which hit the headlines in 1999 when hundreds of Pakistani intruders occupied almost all heights in the sector.

It took more than four months for the Indian Army to push back the intruders. However, a number of Pak intruders were buried by the Indian Army with full honour after the Pakistani authorities refused to take them back.
