Udupi, Sep 23 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party (SP) state-unit President and former Chief Minister S Bangarappa today said the Left parties' opposition to Indo-US nuclear deal may lead to the fall of the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) Government soon.
Speaking to newspersons here he said the Congress and the Left were running on parallel lines, which never meets. If the Left decide to withdraw its support to the UPA government on the issue, then it would warrant a mid-term poll by January or February next year, he added.
Mr Bangarappa said his party condemned the affidavit on existence of Lord Rama and the Rama Sethu project. Belief in god should be left to the people, as it was an abstract subject and it cannot be disputed, he added.
Similarly, the comment by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the existence of Lord Ram was also deeply condemnable, he said adding that issuing such a statement was not in good taste, as it would hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
