Nabard sanctions Rs 104 crore aid to Himachal

Shimla, Sep 23 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 104.61 crore during April to September this year to Himachal Pradesh for developing roads in the state.

Out of this amount, Rs 47.58 crore would be spent on constructing roads in 39 rural areas, Rs 22.86 crore for construction of 12 bridges, Rs 16.73 crore for 79 minor irrigation and water harvesting projects and Rs 17.4 crore for 37 water supply schemes under the Rural Infrastructure Development Funds (RIDF), a NABARD release here said.

The aid would also help construct 268.93 km all-weather and fair roads and 12 bridges with a total span of 818.28 metre.

The development of roads would benefit 1,41,771 people in 460 villages by providing connectivity to 194 rural and urban markets and 13 pilgrimage sites, it added.
