Madhubani, Sep 23 (UNI) The long cherished dream of the people of Mithilanchal to travel in fast trains on the Jaynagar-Madhubani-Darbhanga rail division would come true with the plying of trains on the section from tomorrow.

Railway sources said here today that the conversion of railway tracks from metre gauge to broad gauge on the division was completed and the trains would start running from tomorrow.

Plying of trains in the division was suspended since January for carrying out the conversion work.

Sources said Railway Minister Lalu Prasad would flag off the Gangasagar Express at Jaynagar railway station to inaugurate the broad gauge in between Jaynagar and Darbhanga tomorrow.

Besides Madhubani and Darbhanga districts, the Terai (valley) region of Nepal would be directly linked to the metropolitan cities of the country, the sources added.

Initially, four pairs of trains would run on the division.

The Railways incurred Rs 106 crore expenditure for the conversion of the 68 km long metre gauge into broad gauge.
