Chennai, Sep 23 (UNI) Minutes after the attack on the BJP State Headquarters, members of the ruling DMK today attacked the Hindu Munnani Office in the city in protest against the 'fatwa' issued by a VHP leader against DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his remarks on Lord Ram.

About 30 DMK workers, gathered in front of the Munnani Office at Egmore area in the city, shouted slogans and pelted stones.

Though, they were denied entry into the party office, they pelted stones from outside in which window panes were damaged.

Later, Hindu Munnani leader Rama Gopalan told reporters that the law and order situation had deteriorated in the state.

He also asked whether the DMK leader could make such remarks about Lord Ram at Ayodhya and Kashi and said the VHP leader and former BJP MP Ram Vilas Vedanti had denied issuing such a 'fatwa'.

The attack on Hindu Munnani and BJP offices comes a day after DMK Treasurer and Electricity Minister Arcot N Veerasamy exhorted the party workers to be ready to teach a fitting lesson to the VHP.

He also warned that he would lead a black-flag demonstration in front of the BJP office if the 'fatwa' was not withdrawn.
