Haryana lifted National Wresling championship in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 23 (UNI) Haryana lifted the 26th National junior boys and ninth National junior girls Wrestling Championship played at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium here today.

In 26th National Junior boys free style Haryana defeated Uttar Pradesh by 29 points. Haryana got 77 points while the UP 48 and Delhi 43 points.

In Greco-Roman style of boys Haryana defeated Delhi by a solitary point. Haryana win 49 points while Delhi 48.

In 9th National junior girls Haryana again threshed Manipur by ten points.

Haryana received 72 points while Manipur 62.

More than 600 wrestlers from different parts of the country participate in the three-day long Wrestling Championship commencing here from September 21.

The championship, hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir under the auspices of the Indian Wrestling Federation (IWF) and Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association.

State Minister for Consumer Affairs and public Distribution Taj Mohi-ud-Din, distributed the trophies among the winners.

Member Parliament Choudhary Lal Singh, President IWF G S Mander, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police Kuldeep Khuda and other civil and police officials were also present.
