Bhubaneswar, Sept 23: An Orissa court today sentenced Dara Singh for life imprisonment for the killing of a Catholic priest in the state's Mayurbhanj District in 1999.

Besides Dara Singh, three others -- Jadunath Mahanto, Chema Ho and Rajkishore Majanto - were also sentenced for life.

District Judge Sachidananda Sahu had found all the four guilty on September 11.

Seventeen others were acquitted in the case due to lack of evidence.

The court had examined 23 witnesses during hearing of the case, which began on September 8, 2004.

The case related to the murder of Rev Arul Doss on September 1, 1999 at Mayurbhanj District's Jamubani village.

Dara Singh is already serving a life term for the murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines, and his two minor sons, at Manoharpur village in Keonjhar District on January 22, 1999.
