In the FIR, Ms Bharti, who has formed the Bhartiya Janshakti Party, sought action against Dr Singh and his cabinet colleagues Mr Bharadwaj, Ms Soni and Mr Baalu as well as Mrs Gandhi in connection with the controversial Ram Sethu affidavit filed in the Supreme Court.

The FIR lodged said ''the sentences and words used in the document hurt the sentiments of Hindus''.

Talking to UNI, Ms Bharti said she had lodged the FIR because ''being a Hindu, attending the Ramlilas every year, I have a strong faith in Lord Ram. Naturally, my sentiments have been hurt by the affidavit on Ram Setu.'' The FIR calls for speedy action in the matter.
