Chennai, Sep 22(UNI) In a novel initiative to spot talent, the three year - old ICICI Bank Masters Tour spread across 17 cities, has introduced an event for juniors by roping in one of India's golf stars Shiv Kapur.
According to Kanwar Vivek, Head- Retail- Liabilities-Sales of ICICI bank, the national winner of this Talent Search initiative will train under Shiv Kapur. The winner of each leg of the Tour in the Southern cities will be sent to attend a clinic conducted by Shiv Kapur.
ICICI also announced the introduction a new event ''CEO Cup'', exclusively for CEOs and Managing Directors of eminent organisations in India. A select group of CEOs will play against each other. The winner of CEOs Cup will have the special privilege of playng alongside Shiv Kapur at the British Masters 2008. The CEO's Cup will be held early next year in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the picturesque par 70 Cosmopolitan Golf Course here today teed off the third ICICI Bank Private Baning Masters 2007-08 Tour with Darshan Veeraraghavan and Varun Maniam emerging as the winners with the best Gross and Net Scres repectively in the first leg.
Darshan, a Handicap 2 player had the best score of 37 points while Varun a 24 handicap golfer returned the best score of 41 points.
The tour will travel to Goa, Coimbatore, Belgaum, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Kolkata , Jamshedpur Bangalore and Jaipur.
The Tour will culminate with a grand finale at Aamby Valley Gold Course at Lonavala , with two winners from each city qualifying for the final on February 9, 2008.
